How do I use burn?
Light the candle for 10–15 minutes to allow enough oil to form (and it’ll help set the mood). Once you blow out the candle, the melted oil is ready to use. Because it’s oil-based, the candle has a lower burning temperature and will be warm. You can either pour the oil directly onto the skin, or apply with your fingertips and massage it in. The light and silky texture will moisturize and absorb into the skin, and can be reapplied as desired.
To extinguish your candle, gently blow out the flame and contain any smoke with the jar's lid. A wick snuffer works great, too. Never attempt to extinguish a candle using water.
What is the proper way to care for my candle?
Ensure the wick is trimmed down to 1/4” prior to each lighting, being careful to prevent wick trimmings from accumulating in the wax pool and allowing the candle to burn uniformly. Burn your candle within sight, keeping it away from objects that can catch fire. Never leave your candle unattended or within the reach of children and pets (the essential oil content of Burn can cause the wax to sweat).
To extinguish your candle, gently blow out the flame and contain any smoke with the jar's lid. A wick snuffer works great, as well. Never attempt to extinguish a candle using water.
What is the best way to apply the oil?
Once you blow out the candle, the melted oil is ready to use. The oil requires no cooling due to the low melting point of the natural oils that make up burn. You can either pour the warm oil straight onto the skin, pour a small amount into your hand first, or dip and apply the candle oil with your fingertips.
How long should I burn the candle for before I use it?
For best results, we recommend letting the candle burn for 10–15 minutes, or until the top level of oil pools evenly and there is still solid candle oil underneath. Gently blow out the flame, and you’re ready to pour and apply the massage oil.
What are the candle’s ingredients?
Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Cyclopentasiloxane, Tocopheryl Acetate, Parfum (Fragrance), Benzyl Benzoate, Hydroxycitronellal, Limonene, Linalool, Coumarin, Methyl Ionone Gamma, Triticum Vulgare (Wheat) Germ Oil, Arnica Montana Flower Extract, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Vitamin E (Tocopherol). The candle does contain soy and wheat.
Why does my candle smell smoky?
If you smell an excessively smoky scent, this is caused by excess wick trimmings or ash having fallen into the oil pool, and should be removed before next use.
How many massages will I be able to get from one candle?
The number of massages depends on so many different things: the amount of oil used per massage, the surface area you cover with the oil, whether you use burn as both an aromatic candle and as a massage oil, how you care for the wick, etc. Be sure to brush up on our candle care tips, which will help your candle last longer.
What are the fragrance notes?
burn no. 1 is lightly scented with notes of amber, cedar leaf, clove, lemongrass, medjool date, and tonka bean. The candle’s melted oil can be used for massaging into the skin, or simply use the candle to infuse scent in the room.
Do you sell smaller sizes of your burn candle?
We offer travel-size, 2 oz. options of both our no. 0 and no. 1 burn candles.
Can you use the candle as a lube for intercourse?
Do not use the massage candle oil as a lubricant. For lubricants which enhance the ease/comfort of intercourse and supplements the body's natural moisture/lubrication, try our shine organic and shine silicone lubricants.
Is it unsafe if the oil gets in my vagina?
We don’t recommend using burn no. 1 oil for intercourse. That said, it is important to us that we make sure our product is as safe as possible—burn is vegan, phthalate-free, and contains mostly essential and natural oils. If it feels uncomfortable on any body part, wipe away with a towel.
Is the candle edible?
Please do not consume the candle oil.
What is the jar made out of? Is the jar recyclable?
Burn no. 1 is hand-poured in a glass jar, and can be safely recycled after the oil is all gone. We’ve also found that it’s perfect size to be repurposed as a planter.
How long can I burn the candle?
The continuous burn time is upwards of 12 hours for the 2 oz. candle, and upwards of 30 hours for the 4 oz. candle size. We do not recommend burning the candles that long, as trimmings are more likely to accumulate in the oil pool, and the candle is more likely to burn unevenly (making it difficult to use for the future sessions). Instead, we recommend burning the candle in 10–15 minute increments for optimal burn consistency.
Is the candle vegan or cruelty-free?
Burn no. 1 is vegan and made with cruelty-free ingredients and processes.
Is the candle phthalate-free?
Burn no. 1 is phthalate-free.
Is the candle organic?
While burn no. 1 contains natural and organic essential oils, they are not all certified organic.
Is the candle a wax?
Burn no. 1 is an oil-based candle with the main ingredient being jojoba oil, which has a lower burning temperature than wax.
How do I care for the wick? What is the wick made out of?
Taking good care of your wick is important. Every wick we use is 100% cotton, which means they can occasionally grow large (or mushroom-shaped), and the braid can become slightly loose. This often happens if the candle has been burning for a long period of time, if the candle is exposed to excessive drafts (e.g. by a window, fan or air conditioner), or if the wick isn’t trimmed before re-lighting.
Trimming the wick is easy. While the candle is unlit and cool, just use a cloth or tissue to pull off the excess wick, and trim the wick down to 1/4” with scissors. This will also allow the flame to be smaller (helping the candle burn more evenly), and will help the candle last longer.
Are there any metals in the wick?
Every wick we use is made from 100% cotton with a lead-free, aluminum base.
Where is the candle made?
burn is made in USA. The candle is hand-poured by the master scent house Joya, in their Brooklyn-based design studio.
How do I use the condoms?
To open, carefully peel back the top of the buttercup packaging on the condom with your hands. Never use your teeth. The condom is right way up, so carefully use your fingers to pull it out of the package ensuring that the pointy part of the condom faces away from the tip of the penis before you put it on. Squeeze the pointy end of the condom so that there’s no air trapped inside. If there is trapped air, you risk the condom splitting. Additionally, it's critical to make sure you put the condom on when the penis is fully erect, as you want to make sure it fits correctly and there are no baggy spots. We recommend always using lubricant on the outside of the condom as not only does extra lubricant increase sensitivity, but it also helps to prevent any breakages.
If you are uncircumcised, pull back the foreskin before keeping one hand at the head of the penis with the end of the condom between your forefinger and thumb, and use the other to roll the condom on all the way down the shaft to the base. Note: If the condom will not unroll, you have it inside out and you will need to use a new condom.
When done, hold the condom at the base while you are still erect so that it doesn't slip off. Then, when fully withdrawn, take the condom off. Dispose of it carefully in the trash bin—never in the toilet.
What ingredients are in your condoms?
Natural latex, cornstarch powder, silicone lubricant.
Are your condoms vegan?
Our condoms are vegan, and made with 100% natural latex and fair trade rubber.

Which products can I use the condom with?
If you’re looking for a little something extra, both versions of the shine lubricant work with our condom (but never use oil-based lubricant with latex condoms). If you’re sharing a toy with a friend, you can slip a condom over it for protection as well.
How safe are your condoms?
Our condoms are approved by the FDA as Class II medical devices. We work with the top factory in the world, which has been producing award-winning contraception for the last 20+ years. When used correctly, condoms are an effective form of contraception (98%) and can help to reduce the risk of transmission of sexually transmitted diseases.
How strong are your condoms?

Can I reuse a condom?
Do not reuse a condom. Condoms are only good for one use—that’s why we sell them in packs.
When do the condoms expire?
Each condom has an expiration date on it. Remember to always check your expiration date. Once the condom reaches its end date, it won’t be effective in keeping you and your partner safe because it can tear easily.
How do I store a condom?
Your condoms should always be stored in a cool, dry place. Leaving them stashed in heat like direct sunlight can damage their material which can render the product ineffective as it is susceptible to tearing.
What is the rise condom length/width?
The length is 7.09"/180mm and the width is 2.09"/53mm. The thickness is approximately 0.060 to 0.065mm (this is comparable to a standard condom thickness average of 0.065 to 0.070mm). Our rise condom is ultra thin, plain, parallel-sided, and smooth.
What if the condom feels too tight?
If you're noticing that the condom is too tight, the friction and tension can cause it to tear. Play it safe and find another condom type that feels right for you.
How do I dispose of the condoms?
Wrap a used condom in toilet paper, a tissue, or even a paper bag, and put it in the garbage. All these items are biodegradable, so this is the most environmentally-friendly way to throw away a condom. Never flush a condom down the toilet. It will clog your pipes and latex in water does not biodegrade.
Can I recyclable the condom package?
The top panel which is foil is not recyclable. The bottom panel which is PE is recyclable.
How effective are condoms at preventing pregnancy?
When used correctly, condoms are 98% effective at preventing pregnancy.
Can I use condoms with the vibe or other silicone toys?
Our condoms are lubricated with a small amount of high-quality silicone lube. The lubricant contact is minimal from the condom, so it is unlikely that silicone-to-silicone degrading will occur. We do recommend that your silicone toy is cleaned with soap and water, before and after use, and not stored in contact with any silicone product.
Where are rise made?
rise is made in Malaysia.

The organic is ultra-moisturizing, latex-friendly, and can be used with silicone toys (versus silicone lubricant, which should not be used with silicone toys). We recommend for vaginal sex or everyday hydration, as needed.

Is your lubricant cruelty free?
Our lubricants and condoms are FDA-compliant, so unfortunately it’s currently not possible to be classified as cruelty-free. All FDA-approved medical devices comply with all standards per the FDA guidelines.
Is your lubricant vegan?
Both of our lubricants are gluten-free, sugar-free, hormone-free, glycerin-free, paraben-free, and contain non-GMO and vegan-friendly ingredients.
Are the lubricants edible?
Please do not consume the lubricants.
Is your lubricant safe when trying to conceive?
Yes, our shine organic lubricant is safe to use when trying to conceive. This lubricant is 100% natural, which means there are no artificial ingredients and is free of any glycerin, parabens, spermicide or harmful chemicals that may negatively affect sperm motility and health. It is also gluten-free, sugar-free, hormone-free and contains non-GMO and vegan-friendly ingredients.
Our gentle pH-balanced formula is created to the ideal osmolality and natural moisture of the body (the lubricant is referred to as "iso-osmotic", meaning it is in line with the body's natural moisture production), which is particularly important to matters of conception. "Hypo-osmotic" or "hyper-osmotic" formulas, versus iso-osmotic, can actually kill sperm cells and can also have an adverse effect on long-term stability of mucus membranes and cells (e.g. vaginal walls).
Do you sell smaller sizes of your lubricant?
We offer travel-size, 2 oz. bottles of both our organic and silicone shines, as well as our classic 8 oz. containers.
Is there THC in the shine organic lubricant?
No. Cannabis sativa seed oil (aka hemp seed oil) is a dietary product made from hemp seeds–pressed in a cold press method, using pressure to extract the oil. As the hemp seeds come from the male plant, it does not contain any THC. Albeit a little confusing, the "cannabis sativa" portion of the name is just referring back to the strain of plant, not its THC percentage.
Hemp seeds contain polyunsaturated fats, including omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, which are great for the skin. It moisturizes and soothes inflammation, encourages skin growth and new cell generation, and can help to calm inflammation and irritation on the skin, keeping it nourished and moisturized.

It is important to us that we make sure our product is as safe as possible.
Is there a tamper-evident seal on your lubricant/the tamper-evident seal came undone?
Yes, our lubricants come with tamper-evident seals. The tamper-evident seal is typically wrapped around the base of the pump top for our shine organic lubricant. What material are the bottles for your lubricants made of?
The 8 oz. and 2 oz. bottles of shine organic and shine silicone are made from FDA-approved PET plastic, with a plastic pump top for easy-to-use and mess-free dispensing for the 8 oz. bottles. The 8 oz. silicone shine and both 2 oz. bottles come with a plastic screw-on top.

How do I treat silicone stains in my clothes and sheets?
We recommend that you treat silicone stains like grease stains. Apply a dishwashing soap/detergent that dissolves grease and run through the washing machine. After washing, inspect the stain while the fabric is still wet. If the stain did not come out after washing, do not dry it, as drying tends to set stains. Simply reapply the grease-fighting detergent directly to the stain and wash again. If it the stain persists after the second wash, use a dedicated stain remover (such as SoiLove). SoiLove is a great silicone stain removal and is oftentimes the best first defense for removing stains from sheets and clothing.

Why don’t you recommend shine silicone with the vibe or other silicone toys?
We do not recommend silicone lubricant usage with silicone toys, as they can degrade one another. However, this is dependent on a lot of different factors, such as the duration of contact and the quality of the silicone lubricant/toy. Lower-quality silicone lubes often contain different additives that cause silicone to degrade at an increased rate. Premium silicone lubricant, like our shine silicone lube and our 100% silicone vibe, can have the same reactions but will occur at a slower rate.
For lubricant that is compatible with any toy, we recommend our shine organic lubricant. It is 100% natural, organic, latex-friendly, paraben-free, glycerin-free, gluten-free, sugar-free, hormone-free, and made with non-GMO and vegan-friendly ingredients.

To make things simple, there’s a single button that controls the on/off and the vibration. Firmly press the button once to turn it on and the LED light will go on—this is the low setting. Press again to get to the medium setting, a third time to get to the highest vibration, and again to cycle back through to the lowest setting. To turn off the vibe, press and hold the button down for two seconds. The LED light will go out when it’s off (even the vibe needs its rest).
Why is my vibe not turning on?
Your vibe may need to be charged or may have been set in power-off mode. Simply hold the button for three seconds and wait for two quick, high-speed vibrations accompanied by two flashes of light. To exit power-off mode, hold the button again for another three seconds.
Why isn’t the light on the vibe button turning on?
When the light does not turn on, the vibe is running low on power. Charge it by inserting the USB cord into the connection port on your vibe and either a USB wall adapter (recommended) or port on your computer.
The vibe runs on a lithium-ion battery, so there will be battery drainage over time. The vibe is meant to be used and charged as frequently as our phones and tablets. To optimize the vibe's lifespan, it should be charged at least once every three months. To make sure your vibe is always in the mood, charge it regularly.
If the battery drains completely, the toy will no longer work and cannot be charged.
How do I charge the vibe?
Plug your charging cable into a USB wall adapter, computer or power accessory. When the light is on, it's charging. And when it's off, it's ready to go. Charging time: 1.5–2 hours. Run time: 1–1.5 hours (highest speed)/2–2.5 hours (lowest speed).
Why is the vibe taking longer than usual to charge?
In some rare cases, charging may take longer with certain power sources than others. For maximum results, we suggest plugging the USB charging cable into a USB 2.0 or higher wall adapter. Charging in a computer USB adapter is still effective, but may require a longer period of time to achieve a full charge.
