As a part of our maudern people series, we asked Brooklyn-based founder Latham Thomas for insights on modern intimacy. Latham is a master doula and the founder of Mama Glow—a maternity lifestyle company.
What is your relationship status?
Plant lover
How long have you been with your partner?
This year in November will make 7 years.
How did you meet?
We met through a mutual friend.
In your day to day life, how do you make time for intimacy?
Intimacy is part of my self-care practice. I spend time alone nurturing myself - bathing then anointing myself with oils. I ignite the senses through cooking. Sunbathe on the roof. All of this soothes and relaxes me for intimacy.
With social distancing & quarantine, how has human contact changed for you?
I live with my son and my partner so I am around humans I love daily. But with my work as a doula and educator, a lot of our education has moved online, including our doula training programs. It’s been interesting to bring my energy to the digital space in a different way.

Keeps Me Alive by Moses Sumney.
