As a part of our maudern people series, we asked Miami-based couple Elizabeth Jaime & Chaz Capobianco for insights on modern intimacy. Elizabeth is the founder of floral company Calma Flora and Chaz is the founder of design fabrication company Capoco.

How did you meet?
The story of how we met is kind of funny. We actually matched on Tinder! I (EJ) had been giving the app a chance but had, at that point, been on quite a few depressing Tinder dates. I decided I was being too picky so I started to swipe right "more liberally". When we matched, I was on the fence about his profile (so shallow, I know) but he seemed eager enough so I agreed to grab a drink with him later that week. When the weekend came around, he followed up with me to set a date + time and I totally ghosted him. It wasn't really anything against him, I was just over Tinder and didn't feel like going on another Tinder date. Still, he wasn't going to give up that easily! In the little conversation that we had up to that point, we actually realized we had a mutual friend—my old boss (who I was really close to) who he was working on a project with at that time. I guess he saw her later that weekend and asked her to put in a good word. She called me *right away* and started gushing about how cute + nice he was and how he was "totally my type". I trust her so I right away texted him, apologized for ghosting, and asked him if he'd like to grab a drink. We met at a bar called Weather Up in Brooklyn later that night and the minute he walked in, I was instantly attracted. I remember watching him walk into the crowded bar so vividly. We've pretty much been inseparable since!
In your day to day life, how do you make time for intimacy?
Before we get started with our day, we usually like to have our coffee together in the morning and then take our dog for a walk. Sitting together to have coffee has become a sort of a ritual for us - it's the first thing we do when we wake up. We use this time to catch up. During quarantine, we've also been having 'cocktail hour' which is a fun time to chat + sit out on our patio together.
