As a part of our maudern people series, we asked DC-based founder Alisha Ramos for insights on modern intimacy. Alisha is the founder of Girls' Night In, a weekly newsletter and online community, that recently launched The Lounge, a digital event platform.
What is your relationship status?
Engaged—and for longer than we originally planned, due to COVID-19.
How long have you been together?
4.5 years
How did you meet?
There’s a story here...but for now, let’s just say “through the Internet.”
In your day to day life, how do you make time for intimacy?
We’ve been cooking together most nights of the week during quarantine, and that’s been our time to catch up on each other’s days. We love a “project recipe,” and love trying new techniques and ingredients together. This week, we made chicken kofta and baba ghanoush. We light a candle at dinner, use the fancy cloth napkins, and try to set a mood for connection.
